Park Review

This is one of the best parks in town. The park is separated into active and passive areas. This can be an issue since many people will bring their large dogs into the passive park. If your small dog is afraid of big dogs don't go here.

There is plenty of grass and shade. They actually have three enclosures with one closed for rehab at all times. Very well lit in the evenings and open till 10 PM. There are dog water fountains inside though they are not chilled during the summer months. Special features include concrete pipes, jumping hoops and sand pits.

The people and dogs are a full mix from young to old and friendly to eccentric. The police seem to show up regularly when dog owners get into fights in the active area. A good place to meet singles.

Great park....just wish more people would be responsible about picking up their pets' poop!  If they won't do it, they shouldn't use the park. - Jeanie

I'd give an A to the dogs brought in but MAYBE a C to the Owners.  Small children DO NOT BELONG IN A DOG PARK as ALOT of dogs are NOT USED TO BEING  AROUND children!!  Also, the owners who come in with electric SHOCK collars who threaten to kick other people's dogs and SHOCK their OWN dogs SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED in the Park ESPECIALLY if they are attempting to USE the Public Park as a place to TEACH their animals.  When children are there and are NOT receiving ANY supervision as SOME OWNERS do with their dogs NEED TO GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!

Owners who prefer to STAY on their Cell Phones instead of PAYING ATTENTION to their pets.......should merely LEAVE the Park!!!! 

Any idiot who attempts to "break up" a dog fight by reaching in and picking UP a dog instead of just throwing water on the dogs distracting them....deserves whatever bites they might receive.

The Park is EXCELLENT!!!!!!  The majority of the people there are fine owners as are the dogs.  The CHILDREN and DOGS who are NOT NEUTERED HAVE GOT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!  They have PLAYGROUNDS FOR CHILDREN and a Dog Park IS NOT A PLAYGROUND FOR KIDS!!!!  The dogs who have NOT been neutered SHOULD BE BANNED FROM THE PARK ALTOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!

And PLEASE........for the majority of folks out there.......when the dog poops.......PLEASE PICK IT UP as a RESPONSIBLE OWNER SHOULD just out of RESPECT for others.

The Staff does an EXCELLENT JOB and I tip my hat to Mr. Drinkwater who was and IS one of the MAIN SUPPORTERS of getting this Park for our area. - Kathy
