Park Review
A very nice though small dog park hidden away in north Scottsdale just off Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. It has a unique landscape design with nice thick Grass and trees on one end and a large dirt section with a canopied park bench and water on the other end. There is only a single area so small and large, active and passive dogs will mingle.

Grass and dirt well taken care of, the price is right. 99% of the people pick up and there are just a very few dogs that cause trouble. There is shade and water at one end. -Ray & Jackson
Horizon Off Leash Area in Scottsdale is the perfect place for dogs. It is small so owners do not have to chase long distances to pickup after their pets. It is well groomed with plenty of shade. It is meticulously maintained and the park workers are friendly and helpful. I actually prefer the sandy area—which has a patron-operated, timed, irrigation spigot to keep the dust down and cool things off—because it is easier to see and pickup animal waste. It is usually only lightly used with no more than a dozen dogs—and often far fewer—there at any one time and the dogs rarely have problems. The park appears to be a drainage area for the neighboring baseball field and in the past has often filled with water after a rain. The Scottsdale Parks and Recreation Department has made a considerable effort to improve drainage in the park and that effort seems to be paying off this year (2009) with few closings due to water pooling. Word of warning: watch out for foul balls! - alan & Darwin
